LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics has received a monumental $5 million gift from NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Lynne Mahomes, to support the ongoing enhancements to the South End Zone project at Jones AT&T Stadium and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center. The generous donation underscores the couple’s commitment to their alma mater and their desire to contribute to the future success of Texas Tech’s football program.
Patrick Mahomes, a former Texas Tech quarterback and current Kansas City Chiefs star, has long been a proud ambassador for the university. His time at Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016 was marked by record-breaking performances, including a memorable 734-yard, seven-touchdown game against Oklahoma in 2016. Mahomes’ legacy at Texas Tech continues to inspire current and future Red Raiders, and this donation further solidifies his dedication to the program.
Go Chiefs!

Footnote:
When I was at Texas Tech, I did not participate in any sports. I did take bowling, however, and was grateful to get a D in the class.
How wonderful to see such generosity compared with the behavior we're witnessing by certain others. And Go Chiefs!
